We were able to source some of the newly released 2022 Cuvee Corcelette from Foillard at the lowest price in years. The Corcelette is one of the lineup's staples, and while bottles like Cote du Py are always the stars of the vintage, this is definitely no slouch. The Corcelette comes from 80+-year-old vines, some of the oldest Foillard owns, planted on sandstone, which, of course, is farmed organically with no chemicals of any sort. It's also the only cuvee that is partially aged in foudre but otherwise sees the same traditional fermentation with whole clusters as the other wines. While it is typically enjoyed sooner than the Cote du Py, it can be a sneaky bottle in the cellar, and we have had a few older bottles alongside Premier Cru Burgundy that showed very well. 2022 was a small crop that turned out to be an excellent vintage for Beaujolais with a beautiful ripe concentration of fruit that should make for some serious yet rather delicious drinking, and, with the natural elegance of this cuvee, it's a perfect marriage. Not a bottle to miss this vintage, we have a limited amount at this low pricing.
