2022 Thibault Liger-Belair Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les Saint Georges Eta Early December 2025

Here is a rare offering of one of the top Nuits St. Georges' of the vintage from the excellent Liger-Belair. The production of this cuvee is very small and is only imported in limited numbers. Liger-Belair's Les St. Georges was planted in 1944, totaling 2.05 hectares planted on very deep, brown limestone that is the basis for the richness and structure of this wine. Harvested by hand, this sees 40% whole cluster fermentation and 50% new oak for 22 months before bottling. The 2022 here is fantastic, and we think that it has the potential to be one of the greatest of all time from Liger-Belair. Classic with concentrated fruit and beautiful minerality, this is the complete package and textbook NSG. A bottle that is going to love the cellar, but even it, in its youth, has a lot to say. We have friendly pricing on this bottle, which typically goes for a bit more. This is definitely one of the highlights in Nuits this vintage; dont miss it!

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy 94-96 points! "40% whole bunch vinification. Dense rich purple. The nose is startlingly fine in rich dark raspberry fruit. Les St-Georges was hailed on which seems just to concentrate the wine. A massive wealth of fruit, drier at the back than the super saturated front, but that will come better into focus by the end of the elevage. Very promising. A light coffee note?"
