Domaine Rollin makes one of our favorite under-the-radar Corton Charlemagne and is an address we love and have tasted at many years ago but never get to offer often enough. Domaine Rollin, established in the 1950s in Pernand-Vergelesses, makes some fantastic wines, and this Corton Charlemagne comes from both sides of the vineyard, one parcel on the Aloxe side called Le Charlemagne and another on the Pernand side called En Charlemagne, giving a complete expression of this famed Grand Cru Chardonnay vineyard. The estate employs sustainable viticulture and traditional Burgundian winemaking practices, including hand-harvesting and fermentation in oak barrels, with about 50% new oak used for aging. It's a great example of Corton Charlemagne, which slides in at a bit lower pricing than its peers yet is every bit as good as the best. 2023 is going to be another outstanding vintage for this wine (2022 received 96 from Vinous), with '23 showing a fantastic dynamic between richness, ripeness, and high acidity. This is a new release, and right now, we have the only bottles available in the USA!
