Vinous (Stephen Tanzer) 91-93 points (rated 1/18/18) - Bright medium red. Dark, complex nose melds black cherry, raspberry, licorice, minerals and rose petal. Plush, fine-grained and broad on entry, offering a captivating hint of sweetness, then a bit tighter and more compact on the back half. Perhaps not quite as taut in 2016 as Clavelier's top bottlings from Vosne-Romanée but this distinctly horizontal wine is stony, salty and built to last. The chalky, youthfully austere finish shows fine-grained tannins and subtle length.
