We have a limited amount of one of DeCarlo's Monocultivar olive oil, which is just a fancy word for olive oil made from one type of olive rather than a blend of many. These are incredibly expressive and high-quality olive oils. We know that olive oils from wine producers are the favorite, but they come with a hefty price tag, and DeCarlo specializes in this field, producing exceptional olive oil since 1600 that are excellent values. This olive oil was made as a tribute to Felice Garibaldi, the founder of Monocultivar olive oil in Italy back in the 1830s. "L'olio di Felice Garibaldi" is a Monocultivar oil that boasts Slow Food features; it is produced from 100% Ogliarola Barese Olives from Bitritto and the surrounding areas of Conca Barese and Puglia. Harvested directly from the tree and then crushed within 12 hours of harvesting in the company's stone mill. Mellow and balanced, characterized by tones of fresh herbs, green tomato, and an aftertaste of green almonds, its spicy, yet mellow, with a lively texture, stimulates the palate. It is delicious on various fish, cooked or raw, meats and vegetables, and the DeCarlo chefs even use it to make soy eggs. These bottles are all from the 2021 harvest, but we only have a few cases, so don't miss them.
