We have a few bottles remaining of this Southern Italian Gem. A Special late release anniversary bottle, this is a stunning feat from Puglia. While it is not a region we offer often, this is one of the best examples from Puglia. It is a wine showing so well now, and for fans of southern Italian wine, this is the Pinnacle yet is surprisingly Pinot Noir-like.

One of the best vintages of this wine ever, Felline, released this after a decade in the cellar. This is the wine that put Felline on the map and is an excellent example of Primitivo from Manduria, a coastal village in Puglia, Italy. Primitivo is what we would call Zinfindel and was brought to Puglia from Croatia, where the Italians mastered the varietal, making it the only wine-growing region specializing in Primitivo. This shows the incredible authentic expression and age-ability of Primitivo and was released at the perfect time to be enjoyed right away. A profoundly complex and elegant wine surprisingly made with no oak. The 2010 is delicious yet at the same time, intellectual and, as Dan mentions below, Pinot-like. A wine that is worth checking out for both new and old-world drinker and is a rare chance to get a bottle with ten years of age straight from the winery.
Vinous (Dan D'Agata) 97 points! "Good deep, bright red. Sexy red cherry, iron, violet, earth tones, and Asian spices on the captivating nose, with a mineral component building with air. Sweet and plush but with penetrating, harmonious laser-like acidity really lifting and extending the red cherry, sweet spice, and floral flavors. A beauty, finishing long and smooth as silk; so light on its feet it is almost Pinot Noiresque. Made with no oak and no temperature control, left for two months on the skins, and spent 2 months in concrete tanks. This was the first vintage ever of this wine, created to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first ever Primitivo made by Felline; it has been made only a second time since, in the 2016 vintage."
