N.V. Champagne Copinet Champagne Au Détour du Sézannais

$69.99
N.V. Champagne Copinet Champagne Au Détour du Sézannais

An address we have only offered a few times, Copinet is the culmination of many generations of work. Today, Marie Copinet and her winemaker husband, Alexandre Kowal, run the show, creating wines that purely reflect their estate's terroir. The Copinet brand was founded in 1975 after Marie's father, who previously worked at Taittinger, acquired his first vineyards, briefly selling fruit to Moet Chandon. Today, the two have 9 hectares of vines spread throughout le Sézannais, la Côte des Bar, and la Vallée de la Marne, averaging 30 years old. Vines are tended with respect for the environment, and the House operates as green as possible, cultivating biodiversity in their vineyards to promote health further (they even have their own bee hives).
Copinet's Champagnes do not follow any recipe and blend several vintages featuring a high proportion of reserve wines, extended aging, and a very low dosage. Champagnes are vinified in stainless steel and wood, with some stirring of the lees performed to build extra richness. Copinet pays attention to every detail in the vineyards and in the cellar and makes an impressive range of Champagnes from their unique plots. We have two rare finds today from Copinet, and while they have a mainstay lineup, they have an incredible amount of cuvees, not all of which are made yearly.
Blanc de Blancs from a selection of the best grapes in the village of Villenauze de Grande located in the Cote de Sezanne. Vinified in 300 liter barrels. 3 gram dosage. This is a richer yeat focused cuvee with incredible mineral purity.
