The Champagnes from Delamotte have been some of our favorites, especially the Vintage bottles from 2012 and 2014. However, the entire range from this Champagne House is impressive, and even at the non-vintage level, it is clear that quality is consistent throughout. Made from the three main Champagne grapes, this Cuvee sees a healthy amount of Chardonnay (60%) which is the House's mainstay, with 35% Pinot Noir and 5% Pinot Meunier. The Chardonnay sourced from Cramant and Mesnil sure Oreger here proves the core and backbone of this Cuvee, while the Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier sourced from Tours-sur-Marne, Bouzy, and Ambonnay give depth and abundance of fruit. It is a fresh yet powerful Cuvee with good richness but never goes over the top and still retains a good amount of elegance, showing excellent balance from start to finish. This is a lovely Champagne, and those that enjoyed the vintage Champagnes from Delamotte should be impressed by this Cuvee, which follows the same philosophy and style as the vintage Champagnes, the biggest difference being the addition of Pinot.
