NV Agrapart & Fils Champagne Grand Cru Les 7 Crus

 

This Agrapart's entry-level Champagne has always impressed us, but we seldomly seem to offer it. A blend of 90 % Chardonnay 10% Pinot Noir, the base vintage is 2016, and the dosage comes in right around 7 g/l. Pascal Agrapart has some of the oldest vines in the Cote des Blancs with an average age of over 60. He also has been working his vineyards organically for years. The 7 Crus comes from seven villages around Avize from grand cru and premier cru vineyards. It's is a racy mineral-driven Champagne with the ability to age a decade or more.  William Kelley of the Wine Advocate gave a nice note on this Champagne see below. 

Wine Advocate (William Kelley) 92 points! "Agrapart's NV Brut 7 Crus now routinely includes some 10% Pinot Noir, and the latest rendition is based on the 2016 vintage, supplemented by fully 40% from 2015. This bottle was disgorged in May 2019 with seven grams per liter dosage. Offering up aromas of rips citrus fruit, yellow apples and white flowers, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and vinous, with a comparatively open-knot, fleshy profile, concluding with a chalky and precise finish."
