NV Charles Mignon Champagne Grand Cru Cuvee Comte de Marne

$39.99
NV Charles Mignon Champagne Grand Cru Cuvee Comte de Marne

This is a very classic Champagne, a blend of 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir. All first press juice from the grand cru vineyards from the villages Montagne de Reims, (Louvois), and the Côte des Blancs (Avize, Cramant, Chouilly). A blend of one single year’s harvest this Champagne is from the 2014 vintage. This Champagne sees a dosage of 7g/l and 60 plus months on the lees. The Champagne possesses very fine bottles with aromas of stone fruits, lemon skin, fresh apple, iris, minerals, and yeast. On the palate, this Champagne is still quite young and primary but with good richness and depth echoing notes of apple, nectarine, chalky minerality, and a touch of star anise. A little tightly wound today, but with aeration opened up nicely and should drink effortlessly over the next decade.

Wine Enthusiast (Roger Voss) 93 pts! Blending fruit from grand cru vineyards in the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs, this is a richly textured wine. It has structure as well as minerality, ripe white and citrus fruits, and good potential. Drink from 2021.
