This is an absolutely delicious rose Champagne. It’s a blend of 70% Pinot Noir, and 30% Chardonnay from the grand cru village of Verzenay. It is blended with 10% still Pinot Noir from the Grand Cru village of Bouzy as well. The base vintage is 2014, and the dosage is perfect at 4 g/l. This rose Champagne spends about twice the time on the lees than the average grower Champagne thus developing more refinement, and complexity. It also has a nice Burghound review below!
Burghound 92 pts! Bright ruby. A distinctly pinot-like nose offers up notes of cherry, raspberry, citrus peel, apple and plenty of yeast influence. The mouth feel of the medium-bodied flavors is firm and full-on without being aggressive as the supporting effervescence is very much a presence while the clean, dry and solidly complex finish delivers fine length. This isn't particularly refined (though it's not rustic) but I like the excellent depth. (Drink starting 2018)
