NV Mestres Cava Brut Nature Rosat

$29.99
NV Mestres Cava Brut Nature Rosat
Not a common offer for us but after trying a few excellent selections in Spain, we fell in love with this lovely Cava. Pioneers of the category, Mestres was the first producer to bottle sparkling wine and label it as Cava. The vineyards are about thirty minutes outside of Barcelona, and the production here is very small. With little to no exportation, you will typically only find the Mestres Cava in Spain. The grapes used here are Garnacha Tinta and Monastrell del Penedés (local name for Mourvedre), plus the addition of a small amount of red wine for color. This is a serious Cava with a page taken straight out of the book of Champagne, spending 30 months on the lees with a base of 2020 vintage, and there is no dosage working strictly with the natural sugars of ripe fruit. This is a beguiling Cava with aromas of red fruits, pomegranate, currant, and cherry, with some blood oranges and liquid minerals. The palate is fresh and delicate with a lovely balance, lots of dry extracts, and a touch of salinity. This was poured in a flight of Rose Champagnes two to three times the price and held its own. If you love Sparkling Rose, this is a must-buy, and because this is rare, we only have a limited amount available, so don't miss it!
