We have a few more cases of this great Rose from one of our favorite Champagne growers, Mousse Fils. The Champagnes here punch way above their weight class at very modest pricing, with incredible attention to detail in the vineyard and in the cellar. It is one of the best Rose's at this level and a bottle that is worth checking out. See our original offer below.
Mousse Fils is one of our favorite grower champagne producers, and we have heard rave reviews from our clients about how outstanding these Champagnes are for the price. Their Pinot Meunier dominant Champagnes are among the best in the grower Champagne world and are packed full of history. The Mousse Family has been growing grapes since 1750 in the Marne River Valley. All of their vineyard locations remain on the same hillside with the same exposure but span four villages, which is a unique situation. Mousse Fils started making Champagne in 1923 and has perfected the art of Meunier Based Champagne which is the predominant grape used in all of their Cuvee's. The Effusion is crafted from Pinot Meunier perpetual reserve dating back to 2003 to the current vintage and is blended with reserve red wine from the same date range made from a single parcel of Pinot Meunier. The red wine is aged in barrels for two years that are at least eight years old. The Final assemblage is 92% Pinot Meunier and 8% Pinot Noir and is dosed at 4g/l. One of Champagne's top grower Rose's in this price range and a very fresh and energetic bottle that can be laid down for a few years if you have the patience; excellent juice!
