We were able to get some of this fantastic Champagne in magnum at this exceptional pricing. An outstanding bottle made from a blend of vintages between 2003 and 2020, as we have said many times, this is one of the best overachievers in Champagne, and out of magnum, it is a pure delight. L'Or Eugene is finished with a 2.5-gram dosage that showcases the incredible purity of fruit and terroir. A rare find and a must for fans of Mousse Fils, we have a limited amount available at this great low price.
We found some incredibly rare magnums of one of the most undervalued grower, Champagnes. Their Pinot Meunier dominant champagnes are among the best in the grower champagne world and are packed full of history. The Mousse Family has been growing grapes since 1750, working one hillside spanning four different villages based in the Marne River Valley. Mousse Fils started making Champagne in 1923 and has perfected the art of Meunier Based Champagne (80% Pinot Meunier, 20% Pinot Noir for this bottle). Fruit is all biodynamically farmed with incredible attention to sustainability and the environment. At certain times of the season, they will let a coop of chickens roam the vineyards to remove pests and fertilize the soil. L'Extra is a late disgorgement with reserve wine dating back to 2003 with no fewer than ten vintages blended, low dosage, aged on the lees for 18 months. This wine is exceptional, and considering all the work that goes into making it, one has to wonder why it does not cost more, and in this format, it is an incredible find!
