Nathalie Falmet is one of our Favorite Producers in the Aube. The latest area to gain appeal of Champagne fanatics, and an impressive village that had been overlooked for years. Nathalie Falmet was born in the Aube and studied in Paris earning a degree in chemistry and eventually becoming and oenologist. She opened her own wine consulting laboratory which she still operates where Drappier is one of her clients. After spending her time servicing other producer s, she became one herself when she inherited vines from her family. This vintage Brut is 30% solera wine and 70% juice from 2014. Falmet's picks ripe but her style is fresh with great intensity, length, and focus. She is also one of the few that grow their own vines, vinifies, and analyzes her own juice. Like much of the producers in the Aube she farms sustainably with limited impact on the environment. Her brut is an incredible bottle especially with the added complexity of the solera wine that goes back 10 years! Prices for the 750 ml of this wine are $45 to $50+ per bottle so a great Champagne buy as well!
