NV Palmer & Co Champagne Rosé Solera

$49.99
NV Palmer & Co Champagne Rosé Solera
Palmer is making some of the best buys in Champagne, and from their vintage bottlings to non-vintage and rose, they compete with the top houses at a fraction of the pricing. These are Champagnes that we rarely see outside of Europe and our some of our top picks for budget-friendly wines. Palmer & Co was established in the 40s by seven families with Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards in the Montagne de Reims, who came together to make one big cooperative house.
An incredible value in today's market, the Rose starts with a perpetual reserve, or Solera of Pinot Noir, making up a nice portion of the blend and dating back several decades. While the blend slightly varies, it follows this recipe, 40-45% Pinot Noir, 40-45% Chardonnay, and 10-15% Pinot Meunier. Aging takes place on the lees and in the bottle for a combined time of 3 years. This is a Rose that shows beautiful wild red fruits, spice, minerals, and flowers with a rich yet energetic, elegant, and focused palate imbued with a fine streak of acidity.
One of the best buys for a Rose at this pricing, we have some of the only bottles available in the USA. If you enjoyed or have been interested in the other Palmer Champagnes we have offered, this is another worth every penny.

Decanter 93 points! "With aromas of red berries, spring flowers, pastry, smoke and strawberry/raspberry hints, the Rosé Solera from Palmer & Co has a dynamic palate with a fine bead of bubbles energising its vinous, almost full-bodied texture. Dosage: 8g/L. Reserve wines: 35%. 8% red wine in solera (a system of fractional blending)."

Wine Advocate (William Kelley) 92 points! "A new cuvée from Palmer & Co is the NV Brut Rosé Solera, a lovely effort that includes some 8% Pinot Noir from a perpetual reserve. Pale in hue, it wafts from the glass with attractive and already complex aromas of fresh bread, red berries, spices, dried citrus peel and orange. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, with a nicely concentrated core of fruit, racy acids and a fine mousse, concluding with a saline finish."
