$39.99
NV Sadi Malot Champagne Premier Cru Les Cretes Blanc de Blancs Brut [Pre-Arrival]
In their 5th generation of family wine-growing, this small Champagne producer tends 10 hectares of vines in an enigmatic village of Villers-Marmery, where Chardonnay is grown instead of Pinot Noir, uncommon for the Montagne de Reims. Sadi Malot started practicing biodynamics in 2004 and organics utilizing various techniques to preserve the ecosystem and promote a high percentage of biodiversity in the vineyards. This Cuvee comes from an old vine selection of Chardonnay vinified in 600-liter barrels along with 15% of reserve wine started in 2010 that has been aging in cask. This Cuvee spends an incredible 54 months on the lees before disgorgement with a dosage of 7 g/l. While we deal with many rarities in the wine world, this is truly a producer that hardly makes it out of Europe. Sadi Malot is an excellent grower, and we are excited to introduce this producer to our clients that love Champagne at this sweet spot pricing.

John Gilman 92+ points! "The Sadi Malot “les Crêtes” bottling of non-vintage Blanc de Blancs Brut is crafted from a parcel of vines that are forty-five to fifty years of age. The vins clairs are fermented and raised in six hundred liter casks and the wine is aged for fifty-four months sur latte prior to disgorgement in July of 2019. The current release is from the base year of 2014 and includes fifteen percent reserve wines. The pure and vibrant bouquet offers up a blend of apple, white peach, brioche, spring flowers, chalky soil tones and fresh almond. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied, focused and very elegant in profile, with a fine core, frothy mousse and lovely length and backend mineral drive on the complex finish. This is a lovely bottle."
