We offered this Sake over two years ago, and it was one of the best values we had ever tasted, with many clients coming back and asking for more. However, after that, the price went up, and it just didn't make sense, but here we are years later, and we were recently able to get our original price on this delicious bottle of Sake. Ozeki was established by Osakaya Chobei in 1711 and is one of Japan's leading sake breweries, located in the Hyogo prefecture in the Kansai region of western Japan. Named after its founder, the Osakaya Chobei is the brewery's most representative and classic Sake. Carrying over the traditional techniques and heart of sake brewing that have been passed down over generations—made with a slow, low-temperature fermentation of specially selected malted and 50% polished Japanese rice, giving the Sake a fruity, floral aroma and a balanced, rich, yet light and energetic palate. One unique characteristic of this is that many Daiginjo can be sweet, but this finishes on a relatively crisp, dry note allowing it to be enjoyed with different types of food; raw and cooked fish, veggies, and lighter meats. For the best enjoyment, we recommend serving the Chobei with a slight chill or at room temperature. This is Sake that everyone can enjoy and a fantastic starting point for those looking to venture further into Sake without a hefty price tag. The Ozeki Osakaya Chobei Daiginjyo truly over-delivers at this price point and is one of the best values for Sake, period.
