Located right in the middle of the Beaune, Clos des Couchereaux is higher up on the slope with southern exposure and calcareous clay soils. It is a site with excellent drainage and ripens very well and efficiently, giving it an incredible presence of fruit.
Vinous (Neal Martin) 91-93 pts! "The 2020 Beaune Clos des Couchereaux 1er Cru has a sorbet-fresh bouquet, touches of blood orange suffusing the vivacious red fruit. The oak here is nicely integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, gentle grip, slightly darker fruit than the Theurons with a dash of cracked black pepper on the finish. Good potential, but it will require 3-5 years in bottle. (Drink between 2026 - 2042)
