This is a special site containing vines over 70 years old, all based inside the Lieu dit La Janasse. These factors caught the eyes of Sophie and winemaker Bruno Gaspard, who produced their first Le Mas vintage in 2020. With a few years of practice here, the wines have progressively improved, with 2022 being the best example made so far. Les Mas is a blend of Grenache 55% (Some planted in 1924!), 20% Syrah, 20% Mourvèdre, and 5% Cinsault. Grapes are always hand harvested, double sorted, destemmed, and vinified in concrete tanks with wild yeast before aging in demi-muids and barrels for 14 months. It's a complex and elegant wine that checks nearly every box for a great CDP, and it is a fraction of the price of the regular Clos de Caillou wines.
