2020 Joseph Drouhin Meursault 1er Cru Charmes

$119.99
2020 Joseph Drouhin Meursault 1er Cru Charmes
We procured a few more cases of this late-release 2020 white Burgundy at this fantastic low pricing. Joseph Drouhin is one of our favorite addresses, and they have fashioned some incredible wines in the 2020 vintage, with the Meursault Charmes being one of the best 1er Cru White Burgundys made here. The 2020s have been limited from Drouhin, but we were able to get a few cases that the domaine is releasing. This wine is one of the best renditions of Meursault Charmes ever here, and Winemaker Veronique Boss-Drouhin says it reminds her of a higher acid 1999. Fully approachable now, this is a fantastic buy for White Burgundy, and it has years of life ahead. Visit our site to read the Suckling and Gilman reviews.
James Suckling 95 pts!  Beautiful nose of Amalfi lemon, candied lemon, vanilla and white flowers. Stunning combination of richness and vitality, the wine feeling light on the palate, in spite of the excellent concentration. Very long, mineral finish that displays wonderful silkiness. Drink or hold.

John Gilman 93+  The 2020 Meursault “Charmes” from Maison Joseph Drouhin is another absolutely superb bottle in the making. The bouquet is bright, precise and utterly classical in profile, delivering a mix of apple, pear, a touch of passion fruit, salty, chalky soil tones, almond and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied, ripe and racy, with fine mid-palate depth, lovely focus and grip and most impressive backend energy on the long, complex and beautifully balanced finish. (Drink between 2022 - 2050)
