As we have said before, Guillemot ranks as one of our favorite Savigny addresses, using eight generations of experience to produce classic Burgundy. The 2022 is a fantastic vintage at Guillemot, one of the best they have made in recent years. Gravains is located right next to Savigny's other great premier crus, including Lavieres and Serpentieres. It has the Guillemot signature of impressive terroir expression with the classic Savigny minerality, softened by a refined and elegant style. There are few premier crus left in Burgundy that are this reasonably priced anymore, so it's still a great buy for the category and will age a decade or two. We have tasted in the last few years the 1990 Guillemot Bourgogne Rouge, and it was still drinking well, quite amazing. This is textbook Savigny in stock at low pricing!
Wine Advocate (William Kelley) 92+ The 2022 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Aux Gravains mingles scents of cassis, cherries, plums and spices with hints of burning embers in an inviting bouquet, followed by a medium to full-bodied, ample and structured palate that's one of the firmer, more introverted wines in the range this year—as is generally the case.
