2022 Domaine Bertheau (Pierre et François) Chambolle-Musigny

$84.99
2022 Domaine Bertheau (Pierre et François) Chambolle-Musigny
These are the last bottles of the 2022 Chambolle-Musigny AC we have available. As we have mentioned many times, we have been working directly with Bertheau almost since the very beginning of Envoyer and have tried many vintages. Bertheau is one of Burgundy's most elegant producers, working with what is considered the most elegant Terroir in Burgundy, Chambolle-Musigny. As the adage goes, the deepness of color doesn't equate to Burgundy's quality, and these ruby red masterpieces have that old-school knack of putting on weight in the bottle while retaining their terroir transparency and lightness of touch. Francois has a very traditional approach to his vinification using older barrels with very little intervention, left in the barrel to develop slowly. 2022 is a very promising vintage for Bertheau, and these wines are fantastic buys in a climate where everything is getting more and more expensive. This wine comes from 2.9 hectares of 50+ year-old vines grown on limestone in the village of Chambolle. One of the best buys for Chambolle-Musigny AC annually, Burghound just tasted these, and it looks to have the potential to be the best example ever and on par with Barthod's Chambolle AC this vintage.

Burghound 88-91 points! "A very pretty array of fresh and ripe aromas are comprised by notes of red and dark pinot fruit along with a hint of clove. There is both good volume and richness to the delicious middleweight flavors that terminate in an inviting and nicely textured finale that is sufficiently structured to reward 4 to 7 years of keeping. (Drink starting 2027)"
