2020 Jean et Sébastien Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru Séchet

$34.99
2020 Jean et Sébastien Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru Séchet
The Sechet from J&S Dauvissat is one of their rarest wines, but we have a limited amount of this back vintage example at low pricing today. While not as known as their other selections, this is still a great wine from Sebastian Dauvissat that clocks in at a bit lower pricing than some of the other crus. The wines from this address are fantastic classic examples. Though Jean has passed away, his son Sebastien continues what his father started and is doing a fantastic job with some nice recent vintages.
Sechet is a sub-section of the Vaillons vineyard, much like Les Lys, and is recognized for its superior quality and slightly more eastern aspect compared to the more southernly oriented vines of Vaillons. Dauvissat has 1.25 hectares here in a prime location in the center of the vineyard. Soils are limestone giving the wine excellent minerality and accounting for one of the most elegant and floral cuvees at this estate, which is one of their top wines of the vintage. This is an exceptional bottle from this address and a fantastic example of 2020 Sechets doubling as one of the best buys of the vintage for 1er cru Chablis. If you love Chablis, this is one to buy at this low pricing!

Burghound 90-93 pts! "The hallmark citrus influences of a fine Séchet are on display along with notes of white flower, iodine and ocean breeze. Here too there is fine density to the palate coating, even opulent, flavors that are at once caressing but punchy, all wrapped in a clean, moderately dry and lemony finish that remains somewhat youthfully austere. (Drink starting 2028)"
