The 2022 Louis Jadot Meursault is an excellent bottle at this special pricing, and we've tasted it twice now. A village-level white Burgundy sourced from multiple parcels within the appellation, showcasing the breadth of Meursault's classic limestone-clay terroir. While Jadot doesn't fully disclose the vineyards that go into this cuvée, in the past, it has sourced fruit from Les Tillets, Les Vireuils, Les Clous, and En Luraule. The 2022 vintage was characterized by a warm, dry growing season with timely rainfall in August, resulting in healthy fruit with excellent ripeness and balanced acidity. Jadot vinifies this cuvée using traditional methods—fermentation in oak barrels (1/3 new) and 15 to 18 months of aging on the lees, resulting in a textured, expressive style. The 2022 Louis Jadot Meursault offers classic village typicity, with the richness of a classic Meursault, showing white flowers, fresh orchard fruits, hazelnut, and a hint of buttered brioche. There is good freshness and precision, balancing the wine's creamy texture and slightly opulent profile with vibrant acidity. Subtle oak and a mineral lift on the finish make this a well-crafted, approachable Meursault that drinks well now but can age a few more years.
