Marc Hébrart Champagne Premier Cru Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut

$39.99
Marc Hébrart Champagne Premier Cru Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut

We've been sold out for months, but we were able to get more of this favorite extra brut blanc de blancs at the same great price from Marc Hebrart. Winemaker Jean-Paul Hebrart has decided to recreate some of the Champagnes by changing the dosage from Brut to Extra Brut, a move that has yielded fantastic results that bring out the purity of fruit and minerality. The Chardonnay for this cuvee is sourced from two Grand Cru villages, Oiry and Chouilly, and one premier Cru village, Mareuil-sur-Aÿ. As a result of this slightly drier style, this is one of the best versions of this Cuvee ever to be made, shifting more of the focus to the underlying quality of materials, which many enjoy about grower Champagne. We love the new vineyard-driven character uncovered by the lower dosage, but this Cuvee retains the aspects we all have come to know and love from Marc Hebrart and is still one of the best buys at this level for Blanc de Blancs, and this is a must for fans of Marc Hebrart. Now is also the time to buy because there has been a price change at Hebrart, and this Champagne is going to go up!

Antonio Galloni 93 points! "I have a slight preference for the Blanc de Blancs in its Extra Brut version. Here the wine is ethereal and weightless. Readers who like a little more mid-palate stuffing will likely prefer the Brut version, but the lower dosage works so well in amplifying the citrus, floral and slate nuances."
