2015 Paul Jaboulet Aîné Crozes-Hermitage Domaine de Thalabert

$39.99
2015 Paul Jaboulet Aîné Crozes-Hermitage Domaine de Thalabert
One of the best buys from Jaboulet, we have a late release coming directly from the Domaines cellar. When value and quality intersect in the Rhone, you get Thalabert, and it has been one of the single most outstanding values for the Northern Rhone for many years running. Jaboulet was purchased by the Frey family in 2007, resulting in a significant quality increase, implementing lower yields and biodynamics into the regime. This is one of the best Crozes-Hermitage and a favorite of ours next to Alain Graillot. A serious wine sourced from 60-80+-year-old vines, this vineyard is in a key location that many of the top producers of Crozes-Hermitage desire, and though the sourcing is slightly different from the days of old, this is still a tremendous wine for the money and from one of the top names in the Northern Rhone. 2015 was a fantastic vintage, and Jeb Dunnuck calls it the best Thalabert of all time. It was a vintage that needed some time to blossom fully, and while it is showing very well now, It will continue to develop for another decade. This was also one of the last vintages that winemaker Jacques Desvernois made before going to work at Guigal. We have low pricing here today and are also offering a 10% discount on top of that for those buying 3 bottles or more!

Jeb Dunnuck 97 points! "The finest vintage to date, better even than the stellar 2010, the 2015 Crozes-Hermitage Domaine De Thalabert is a gorgeous, deep, layered, and incredibly satisfying Crozes. Blackcurrants, olive tapenade, truffles and earthy notes all emerge from this full-bodied, gorgeously textured and seamless 2015. With fine tannin and no hard edges, it can be drunk today or cellaring for 15-20 years."
