Valmaggiore is an amphitheater vineyard featuring sandy soil and a unique Microclimate that Luciano and his wife fell in love with in the early 90s. Due to the vineyard shape, the vines see total exposure to the sun throughout the day, ripening very well and evenly, and is a prosperous and vigorous vineyard. Nebbiolo from this vineyard is classic, showing excellent finesse and elegance with a beautiful amount of refinement with all aspects of the growing and winemaking process devoted to respecting nature. Valmaggiore sees hand harvesting, indigenous yeast fermentation, stainless steel maceration, and malolactic fermentation in 500-liter French Oak Tonneaux. 2020 is a leading example and a fresh and aromatically profound wine that is on the same level as some Baroli this vintage.
