2022 Domaine Delaporte Sancerre Les Monts Damnés Eta 5-7-2024

$39.99
2022 Domaine Delaporte Sancerre Les Monts Damnés Eta 5-7-2024
The wines from Delaporte are stunning examples of Sancerre, and at half the price of Cotat, it's one of the top buys for Monts Damnes. A family Domaine located in Chavignol since the 17th century, Delaporte really started to gain recognition when Vincent Delaporte's grandson, Matthieu Delaporte, took over in 2010. Matthieu immediately began focusing on transforming the vineyards to organic and, more recently, is working on becoming fully biodynamic. Matthieu purchased vines in this vineyard after a few years at the domaine, and they are now 50-55 years old. This is an impressively complex wine with a beautiful floral aroma of acacia and honeysuckle that goes into a more savory component of beeswax, with citrus and intense minerality. The palate is pure, precise, and focused, with fantastic acidity, excellent texture, and a very long mineral finish. This is catching up to the Cotat's very fast, as Matthieu continues to dial the vineyard as he switches to biodynamics, and the wines are only improving. A fantastic Sauvignon Blanc, Deleporte is a Domaine to keep an eye on, and this is one of the best examples yet and the best buy for Monts Damnes this vintage.
