This wine has been an under-the-radar gem sicne its existence. Source from the Barbaresco Cru Meruzzano. The family has to label some of the cru Langhe because, by Italian law, they are only able to change the name on a 1/2-hectare plot per year. So, in essence, this is a Barbaresco, and it's really a great bottle and a steal at $25.
Everything is done in the old-world style as much as possible. The results are truly sensational. The 2020 vintage is a riper, more powerful one, which allows this wine to be drunk now with some aeration. We would recommend another 3 to 6 months in the bottle for this wine to strut its stuff. The aromas are a melange of dried rose petals, red fruits, underbrush, orange zest, and some minerality. The palate is ample and plush with excellent depth, persistence, and some round tannins buried in the fruit. This is of Barbaresco quality and delivers an extremely high pedigree for the price! We currently have the only bottles of this wine that were imported into the USA!
