Inspired by Beaujolais's natural winemakers, Jean-Michel uses carbonic and semi carbonic macerations for some of his wine, the Les Binardes being one. This is a selection of Syrah from the lower part of the Tupin vineyard, and Verenay with 10% Viognier planted from a 1986 massale selection. This is fermented in a stainless steel vat before aging in older 228-liter oak casks. Due to the carbonic maceration in 2018, the wine has a very dense and succulent fruit with floral and mineral complexity typical of Cote-Rotie. Les Binards isn't a wine that will need years to come around and is showing rather well right now. This is a rare bottle in the USA, but we are glad to offer it at US low pricing.
