The 2023 Jean-Marc Boillot Bourgogne Blanc is an excellent example of how this domaine delivers classic white Burgundy style even at the entry level. Sourced from younger domaine holdings near Puligny and Meursault, the wine is made with hand-harvested grapes that are pneumatically pressed, then undergo alcoholic fermentation and racking on the lees, followed by malolactic fermentation and 11 months of aging in 30% new oak.We tasted it recently and were struck by how impressive it is for the category—showing incredible aromatics, depth, and a lingering finish that far exceeds expectations for a Bourgogne Blanc. The nose offers layers of Meyer lemon, Anjou pear, golden apple, and green pineapple, accented by straw and saline, and a touch of pastry. On the palate, it has a soft, supple texture with a dynamic interplay of richness, ripe fruit, and bright acidity. The mid-weight body carries through with energy, showing a touch of dry extract and finishing long, elegant, and mineral-driven.It's a delicious Bourgogne Blanc that captures both the style Jean-Marc Boillot’s and the 2023 vintage perfectly. For the money, it is one of the best buys of the vintage and is one to enjoy now and over the next few years.

Jasper Morris 89 pts and best buy!  Fresh pale lemon and lime. A return to classicism after the sultry southern style of the last Mâcon. The Bourgogne is really quite chiselled – samples served cool – with a little biscuity touch as part of the prolonged finish.
