1995 Robert Ampeau & Fils Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières

$229.99
1995 Robert Ampeau & Fils Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières
We have a fantastic treasure from one of our favorite addresses for back-vintage bottles. The 1995 Perrières is a wine we offered a few times, and this batch has just been released from the Ampeau Cellars in Meursault, so the bottles are in pristine condition.
Ampeau's white Burgundy's are exceptional wines that best some of the top producers at lower pricing. As we have said, these are built for age, are still remarkably fresh, stored in one of the coldest cellars in Meursault, and continually released in tiny quantities over the years. Made by Michel Ampeau, and like all of his wines, they are incredibly structured, and even with nearly 20 years in the bottle, the wines still need some time to open up. After a bit of oxygen, they lasted a surprising amount of time. We enjoyed older bottles of Meursault open two days before, and they were still alive and kicking the second day. The Meursault Perrières is one of Ampeau's top wines and one of Meursault's top premier crus. It is located on the border of Puligny-Montrachet and is a site that shows incredible minerality. While 1996 is technically a better vintage, the 1995s here are the real winners and are stunning examples that we think best the '96s.
Pricing today is excellent, and is an great buy for back vintage white Burgundy and has a CellarTracker Community score of 92.7. These are the only bottles available in the USA and also the only bottles of '95 Perrieres on the market right now that are not over $1,000 dollars.
