Curated by Nicolas Potel, who launched Maison Roche de Bellene in 2008, the Collection Bellenum program sources ex-cellar back vintages from top growers, preserves the original domaine élevage and corks, and releases the bottles under the Roche de Bellene label with strict provenance control, making them excellent deals. Nicolas will taste thousands of wines to select a single winner for the vintage, and the goal is to find gems at affordable prices. The 2008 red Burgundy vintage was low-yielding and high-acid, and the best wines are vibrant, transparent, and classically proportioned. Expect lifted red-cherry and floral tones, fine spice, and energetic structure, drinking beautifully now with upside over the next decade.
