2014 is the current release of Fleur de Passion from Diebolt Vallois, and it's another fantastic vintage of this Blanc de Blancs. This cuvee is one of our favorites, especially after meeting Jacques Diebolt several years ago, and it has become challenging to get over the years with very little imported. We love this cuvee and just revisited the 2008 a few days ago, and it was outstanding. As we have mentioned many times, Jacques is a very serious vigneron with a strong personality and is quite energetic for a gentleman his age. He was excited to show us a copy of the Revenue de France (the longest-running French wine review magazine), where only Krug Clos des Mesnil was higher rated than his Fleur de Passion, which was certainly a big accolade. His family now operates his estate, and the quality here is improving. Getting the top Tete de Cuvee Champagnes has become increasingly difficult due to high worldwide demand and some limited upcoming harvests, but 2014 is another excellent vintage where Chardonnay performed very well, and the Fleur de Passion will be one of the top Champagnes from the Cotes de Blancs. We have excellent pricing today at almost half the price of previous vintages, and compared to other Tete de Cuvees from the Cote de Blancs, this is a great buy and highly recommended!
