While Feudi di San Gregorio makes a wide range of wines, the Piano di Montevergine is one of the Estate's best wines and was exceptional in 2016. Made with 100% Aglianico, This vintage is one of the best of all time for this wine and is a lovely display of gorgeous Black fruits, sour cherry, and spice with an inviting and velvety palate that shows elegant tannins, a beautiful mineral backbone, and a long palate staining finish. 2016 is a mesmerizing bottle and one of the best wines Feudi di San Gregorio has ever made. These are quite a bit cheaper than Mastroberardino but are every bit as good, and for the money, an incredible buy. We have low pricing here today on this one, and it's a rare and beautiful example of Aglianico from Taurasi.
