Here is a lovely late-release ex-cellar offer of Pommard Rugiens. Jean-Luc Joillot is based in Pommard and works his vines sustainably. His parcel of Pommard Rugiens comes from an unclassified part of the Rugiens vineyard ( Easternly exposure) with the same soil as the premier cru. The vines here are seventy-five-year-old and are a gorgeous example of Pommard that is ready to drink and at a great price! It has a lifted bouquet with vibrant red berry fruit: concentration and purity. The palate is medium-bodied, with fine tannin, crisp acidity, and a harmonious, silky finish.
