Guy Farge didn't always bottle his own wine, for a period of time he sold grapes to Delas before deciding to bottle his own production. This is a classic St. Joseph from some very old vine syrah sourced from two vineyards planted on granite. The majority is sourced from a vineyard planted between '78 and '93 and the second, smaller portion comes from vines planted in the 1930s. Wild yeast fermentation here and aged in 4-5 year old 400L casks and very large 3000L Foudre for just over a year. The 2017 In its youth is showing on the slightly on the more rustic side of the spectrum but has huge potential for cellar time to great benefit.
