This large Domaine in Meursault was always an excellent buy for the money in the past, and with new owners and a large cash infusion a few years back, the quality skyrocketed. The new owners replaced the old wine-making equipment, cut yields in half, and started farming sustainably. We have had great success from past vintages of this wine, and this Cuvee was a stand-out when we tried it a few years back, winning best in show for the appellation in previous vintages. As we keep saying, 2020 will be a vintage to buy because of small quantities in 2021, and reports show that it will be an extraordinary year for White Burgundy. Charmes-Dessus is an excellent location, situated at the top of the Les Charmes vineyard, connecting to Les Perrières, and is prime Premier Cru territory. A rare find with only a limited amount ever imported to the US, this is a friendly price for a bottle of this caliber and an early shot at the vintage as more of the 2020s start becoming available. This will not be one to miss, and we expect some nice scores to follow suit.
