Estournelles St.-Jacques is on a southeastern-facing slope in the village of Gevrey-Chambertin. The vineyard location is above Clos St. Jacques and Lavaux St. Jacques sharing a border with Les Cazetiers and Poissenot in very prime real estate among some of the greats of the village. The Estournelles-St.-Jacques is a secret of the domaine like the Cazetiers and is not as widely known as the Clos St, Jacques, but still great and clocks in at lower pricing than both. This is a mineral-driven, elegant, pure, and fresh example of this vineyard with ample power and structure. One that could be enjoyed now if allowed to open up, but with a few years in the bottle, this is going to be excellent and, at this pricing, a great buy for Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru.
