2020 Louis Jadot Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Estournelles-St.-Jacques

$109.99
2020 Louis Jadot Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Estournelles-St.-Jacques
Always a fantastic cru from Jadot 2020 is one of the best since 2010, and we have a fantastic low price on a few cases today. Estournelles St.-Jacques is on a southeastern-facing slope in the village of Gevrey-Chambertin. The vineyard location is above Clos St. Jacques and Lavaux St. Jacques sharing a border with Les Cazetiers and Poissenot in very prime real estate among some of the greats of the village. The Estournelles-St.-Jacques is a secret of the domaine like the Cazetiers and is not as widely known as the Clos St, Jacques, but still great and clocks in at lower pricing than both. This is a mineral-driven, elegant, pure, and fresh example of this vineyard with ample power and structure. One that could be enjoyed now if allowed to open up, but with a few years in the bottle, this is going to be excellent and, at this pricing, a great buy for Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru.

James Suckling 96 points! "The expansive nose of fresh black cherry and dry earth leads you into this very compact and concentrated Gevrey-Chambertin, which has the scale and gravitas of a Grand Cru, as well as massive tannin structure. This youthful form might be too much for some, but if you have a little patience, this is going to be a magnificent drinking experience. From organically grown grapes. Drinkable now, but best from 2025."
