A producer with whom we don't regularly work, the 2021 Domaine du Chardonnay Chablis Paradis comes from a tiny holding of less than 1 hectare, split between two hillside parcels—one south-facing and steep, the other in the lieu-dit of Vaugiraud, located at the southern end of Chablis—with vines reaching 30 years of age. Initially founded in 1987 by Etienne Boileau, Christian Simon, and William Nahan, the domaine is now run by Arnaud Nahan with winemaking led by Thomas Labille, formerly of Domaine Laroche. The 2021 vintage was a cool, late-ripening year that produced bright, acid-driven wines with clear mineral definition—well-suited to this classic Chablis terroir. Fermentation is conducted in stainless steel with minimal oak contact, preserving tension and purity. This wine earned a Gold Medal at the 2025 Decanter World Wine Awards, which is quite a bold statement for an AC Chablis. Crisp and focused, with notes of citrus, crushed shell, and a clean saline finish, this precise terroir-expressive Chablis completely over-delivers for the price and is one of the top buys for Chablis right now!
Decanter 96 Decanter World Wine Awards Gold Medal (tasting panel) "Glowing with ripe lemon fruit with an underscore of briny purity which sails across the vivid vein of acidity and onto the mouth-filling, creamy yoghurt texture."
