Our last bottles of this excellent Sonoma Pinot Noir this is one of our favorites this year and a top buy for Domestic Pinot Noir this vintage. We have a limited amount in stock right now, and it is an excellent bottle for old and new-world lovers.
This is one of the best Pinot Noir from California I have tasted in the last year. 2021 is an excellent vintage for Sonoma Pinot Noir after the smoke-laden 2020 vintage. The vines here are the coolest vineyard sites Paul Hobbs sources from. The vines are all tended to sustainably, with about 17% whole cluster fruit used and about 1/3 new French oak, with the balance being two to three-year-old barrels. The result is a block-buster Pinot Noir with lovely fruit, incredible depth, and a whiplash of a finish that lingers on for minutes. This world-class wine will blow away new and old-world Pinot Noir lovers. This is impressive juice; don't miss it!
Antonio Galloni 96 pts! "The 2021 Pinot Noir (West Sonoma Coast), a new wine in this range, is lights out. Rich, ample and bold, the 2021 races across palate with layers of purplish fruit, lavender, spice, menthol, licorice and spice. A dollop of stems adds nuance, but without dominating the overall balance. There's terrific acidity and structure to play off the natural fruit richness that is such a distinctive attribute of the best sites in the appellation. (Drink between 2025 - 2033)"
James Suckling 95 pts! "Black-cherry, dried-strawberry, slate and sandstone aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, medium-chewy and bright at the end. The texture and intensity are beautiful and pure. Energy and depth. Drinkable now, but better in 2024."
