Another Rare insider find we have more from Tricot today, and this time it is the beloved Perrieres! As we mentioned in our last offer, Tricot is technically a new domaine, founded in 2018 by Vincent Tricot; however, the family's roots in Meursault date back to 1848. Vincent's mother was a Ropiteau, a name many will recognize from the estate acquired by Bouchard, which gave them access to key parcels in Meursault. Today, Tricot remains closely tied to Bouchard: the Bouchard team manages the vineyard, oversees harvest, vinifies the wines, and bottles them, while Tricot receives a portion of the finished wine as payment. A recent confirmation from a source in France stated that Tricot's Meursault Perrières is identical to Bouchard's Perrières, as there is only one harvest and vinification. In short, this is Bouchard's wine, just with a different label at a discount. Only the best lots are bottled under the Tricot name, meaning the wine can exceed that of Bouchard's bottling. This comes from a small parcel of 50-year-old vines in Perrières, one of Meursault's top crus, showing remarkable mineral precision and finesse with just 15% new oak, aged 10–12 months in Bouchard's cellar. Scores for the Bouchard version are BH 92-95, WA 92–94, JS 98-99, and DR 96, and are fully applicable here.
