Tenuta di Trinoro spans about 200 hectares, with 22 hectares under vine, primarily dedicated to Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. Le Cupole, the estate’s second wine, is crafted for earlier approachability, using a mix of younger vines and declassified barrels from the flagship blend. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel, followed by aging in both new and used French oak, then concrete. The 2022 vintage in Tuscany was marked by heat and drought but saw cooling September nights, preserving acidity and balance. A lovely wine that satisfies both Old World and New World palates, it offers remarkable balance and gorgeous fruit. What doesn’t make the cut for Tenuta di Trinoro goes into Le Cupole, which is also 90% less expensive than the flagship wine, making it an incredible deal.
