Vincent Cuillier is quickly establishing himself as one of the most exciting up-and-coming young vignerons in Champagne, working on the lesser-known Massif de Saint-Thierry just north of Reims with a deeply thoughtful approach centered on regenerative viticulture, permaculture, and agroforestry. His 2022 Fusion Blanc de Noirs Brut Nature is a new multi-parcel cuvée composed of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Pinot Meunier, fermented with indigenous yeasts, raised in barrel and bottled with zero dosage. The wine has real breadth and vinosity, but Cuillier’s signature saline freshness keeps everything energetic and precise through the finish. A big note from Galloni, this is a terrific introduction to a young grower we expect to hear much more about in the years ahead, and it is a serious, terroir-driven Champagne that feels both modern in its farming and beautifully classical in its execution.
Antonio Galloni 95 pts! A new wine in this range, the 2022 Brut Nature Blanc de Noirs Fusion is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Meunier. Rich, ample and layered in the glass, the 2022 is so impressive. Dried pear, crushed flowers, spice, ginger and dried herbs all build as the 2022 gradually unfurls in the glass. Readers will find a Champagne of real breadth and texture. I loved it. Bottled with no dosage. Disgorged: March 2025; multiple disgorgements throughout the year. (Drink between 2026 - 2034)
