The wines from Jean-Michel Gaunoux are among the best buys in Meursault, and today, we are offering special pricing on the current release of the Perrières, which is outstanding. His Meursault Perrières comes from a 1/2-acre parcel located mid-slope, with vines planted in 1981 next to Clos de Perrières. Jean-Michel has been farming this site sustainably for years and employs a classical approach to winemaking, utilizing indigenous yeasts for fermentations and limited new oak. His top premier crus see only about 25% new oak, always bottled unfined and unfiltered. 2023 is one of his best works and is a very compelling vintage for Jean-Michel, on par with the excellent 2020. This shows exceptional transparency, highlighting the beautiful minerality, elegance, and tremendous underlying power and precision. This is the style that comes to mind when seeking outstanding white Burgundy, and we have some of the only bottles available in the USA at this low price!

Vinous (Neil Martin) 94-96 points! "The 2023 Meursault Les Perrières 1er Cru showed a little reduction on the nose, though there is unequivocally more mineralité than the Les Charmes. The palate is taut, fresh and quite linear, but as it moves through to the second half the quality shines through with perfectly pitched acidity and life-affirming mineralité. This cuvée was tasted twice on two different visits and my assessment is based on the second, which was far superior."
