2024 Big Table Farm Pinot Noir Willamette Valley

$48.99
2024 Big Table Farm Pinot Noir Willamette Valley

We recently tasted the 2024 Big Table Farm Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley alongside several other new Oregon Pinot Noir releases, and it was the clear winner. Big Table Farm has always taken a deeply hands-on, farming-first approach, with Brian Marcy and Clare Carver building their property around regenerative agriculture, animals, composting, and even a team of draft horses that Clare works with on the farm. That same low-intervention philosophy carries into the winery, where native whole-cluster fermentations and minimal handling help preserve the vineyards' character. The 2024 Pinot has excellent concentration and depth, with a beautiful core of deep, sweet red cherry, raspberry and cranberry fruit layered with savory herbs, earth and spice. This vintage has an unmistakable whole-cluster character, and the stems are exceptionally well judged, adding aromatic lift, spice, and complexity without ever becoming green or dominating the fruit. The wine has good richness, but it remains elegant and energetic, with fresh acidity, fine tannins, and a long, savory finish. Most impressive is its sense of place: this is unmistakably Big Table Farm and unmistakably Willamette Valley, combining generous fruit with the earthy, savory character and freshness that make Oregon Pinot Noir so compelling. This is a lovely bottle of Pinot Noir and, in our view, among Big Table Farm's strongest examples.

Vinous (Eric Guido) 92 points! "The 2024 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley mixes crushed black cherries with minty herbs and nuances of spice on the nose. It's cooling and round on the palate, with licorice-tinged red berry fruits supported by a core of fresh acidity. The 2024 tapers off long and crisp, with a subtle citrus inflection that provides a pleasantly bitter sensation. (Drink between 2026-2030)"
