John Gilman 93 pts! The vineyard of Murgers des Dents de Chien is generally regarded as Saint-Aubin’s finest premier cru terroir and one will get no argument from me. Domaine Chartron’s 2024 version is exceptional, offering up a vibrant aromatic constellation of pear, golden delicious apples, crème pâtissière, a complex base of chalky minerality, vanillin oak and a topnote of white lilies. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and focused, with a beautiful core of fruit, great soil signature, a lovely girdle of acidity and a long, beautifully balanced and complex finish. This is superb juice, but I would be inclined to give this at least a couple of years in the cellar before broaching it, just to allow all of its layers to fully emerge. (Drink between 2028 - 2050)
