2024 Giuseppe Quintarelli Bianco Secco

$54.99
2024 Giuseppe Quintarelli Bianco Secco

Giuseppe Quintarelli Bianco Secco is a tremendously delicious, mineral-driven white every year, and the 2024 is another reminder of why this has become one of our favorite Italian whites. It has been a revelation to us in the past: refreshing, complex, and far more serious than expected from a wine that can be enjoyed so easily. Quintarelli is the icon of the Veneto, best known for monumental Amarone, Recioto, and Valpolicella, but while those wines call for a serious meal, Bianco Secco works at almost any moment of any day. The blend is led by Garganega (one of the standards of Veneto), with Trebbiano Toscano, Sauvignon Bianco, Chardonnay, and the rare local Saorin (Friuliano), sourced from limestone and basalt soils that give the wine floral lift, orchard fruit, citrus, gentle herbs, and a stony volcanic edge. This is another case of a winemaker famous for powerful reds, yet we often find ourselves reaching more for the sneaky-good white. Distinctive, food-friendly, and beautifully refreshing, this is a great buy from easily one of the greatest winemakers in northeast Italy!
