N.V. Brisson - Lahaye Champagne Premier Cru Brut La Sentimentale Blanc de Blancs

$39.99
N.V. Brisson - Lahaye Champagne Premier Cru Brut La Sentimentale Blanc de Blancs

A rare find in grower Blanc de Blancs, Brisson-Lahaye is a small, family-owned house that a close friend in France introduced to us. Based in the Grand Cru village of Tours-sur-Marne, they farm approximately 4 hectares across multiple terroirs—ideal for a village situated at the crossroads of Champagne—and have been working biodynamically since 2012. “La Sentimentale” is a Premier Cru, 100% Chardonnay Blanc de Blancs that undergoes primary fermentation in stainless steel, a portion of which is matured in oak, and spends roughly two years on lees, resulting in a precise Brut finish with around 6 g/L of residual sugar (12.5% ABV). The style is clean and expressive, featuring notes of lemon oil, green apple, and white peach, complemented by citrus blossom, almond, subtle pastry notes, and a chalky-saline finish. The palate is brisk, finely textured, and persistent. Almost never seen outside Europe, our small allocation makes this a smart, terroir-driven Blanc de Blancs that seriously overdelivers for the price.
